The Morning After

The alarm rang at 5:30 in the morning, since breakfast is served at 6:00 or 6:30 a.m. and the bus picks us up at 6:50 in the morning. I woke up with the worst allergy I have ever had and an eye swollen shut. Evidently the mildew and dirt in the room really affected my allergies, and also gave me a kind I have never had before: grotesquely swollen eye allergy. Or was I bitten on the eye by a bug? The worst part… today was photo day for our two year Peace Corps issued identification cards, our visas, and the Peace Corps photo book!!!

Did I mention I also had bug bites in several other places on my body?
